Ingredient
Digestive Enzymes
Digestive enzymes — usually protease, lactase, amylase and lipase — are added to protein powders and sold on their own to help break food down. The clearest case for them is someone who gets bloated on whey, where lactase in particular can make the difference. If you digest your shakes without trouble, an enzyme blend is unlikely to change anything you would notice. Look at which enzymes are listed and at what activity units, not just the word on the front of the tub.
